It's easy.  Follow these easy steps below.

     1.  Click on the web address listed above.

     2.  Click on REGISTER NOW on the web site.

     3.  Sign up for a username for the web site.

     4.  Fill out the personal information for the application process.

     5.  Pick a test site and test date.

     6.  Pay for it with a credit card.

     7.  Print out a receipt of the transaction and save it to take with you to the testing center.

 

So, you're registered.  Now What?

The College Board also offers free test prep in addition to being able to register there.  You will probably get the best samples of test questions here because the College Board administers the test.

The Official SAT Study Guide:  For the New SAT.  2007.  The College Board.

 

This book is considered a must have for SAT prep.  It has ten real tests with which to practice.  Though we have one as a reference at our library, you may want to purchase this book.  The link to Amazon follows.  You may even be able to purchase it used.

Moran, Margaret.  Peterson’s New SAT Writing Workbook.  Thomson Peterson’s:

Lawrenceville, NJ, 2004.

 

This SAT Prep book is specifically to prepare for the writing portion of the SAT. 

It has five practice essays and gives you strategies to write efficiently under timed

conditions.   This book may be checked out of our library.

Lawrenceville, NJ, 2006.

 

Offering detailed answer explanations, six full length practice tests, and score raising tips and strategies, this book offers another opportunity to raise your score.  This book is in our collection and may be checked out of our library.

 

Interactive Books

 

Cracking the SAT with DVD:  2008 Edition.  Princeton Review, 2007.

 

With four full-length practice tests and a DVD which highlights special features of the book, this book is great for those who like to do questions on paper rather than online.  This book is in our collection and may be checked out of our library.

 

Weiner Green, Sharon and Ira K. Wolf.  Barron’s How to Prepare for the New

          SAT with CD-Rom: 22nd Edition.  Barron’s: Hauppage, NY, 2005.

 

The CD Rom allows you to take two tests on the computer.  If you don’t finish, just save and you can come back to it later.  Once completed you get a score for your test.  There are also flash cards that accompany this book.  This book is in our collection and may be checked out of our library.
